Really You Can’t Make This Stuff Up
I have a friend who was regaling me with the woe her child has faced since going to college this last semester. This is not funny when it is your kid but when you listen to someone else string it along, the tale sounds like the outline for a new sitcom. My friend has a great sense of humor. While she was regaling me, she saw gleam in my eye. “Are you writing a blog post in your head?” she asked. “Maaaybeeeee”
Used with permission:
This child’s car went out of commission as she was on her way to move into her off campus apartment. She works out other transportation.
She slips, drops her backpack, falls on the backpack and breaks her new phone.
She gets a nasty infection because a housemate borrowed her razor. She discovers how great the campus health care system is (it is great).
She gets to borrow one of her parent’s cars to get to her classes rather than having to depend on other people for rides. There is a brown recluse spider in the car and it bites her.
2 days later, for no apparent reason, the borrowed car stops working.
My friend doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She’s getting a little scared to answer the phone.
She does keep praying.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let it Snow: A Frugal Second Cup Decorating Idea
Home crafted decorations are traditional and useful, and just plain pretty. Scissors, paper, and a printer, are all it takes to create a winter wonderland, even if it’s 80 degrees and sunny outside. If you are feeling shiny, some glue and glitter will add even more sparkle.
